11-15: Granting Emeritus Status to Senior Administrators

I - PURPOSE

Senior administrators who have met the following criteria are eligible for emeritus status upon retirement from Fort Lewis College:

  • have served at the Vice Presidential level;
  • have been employed by the College for a period of at least 10 years;
  • do not have an academic appointment.


II - ELIGIBILITY

Eligible senior administrators desiring such status can be nominated by a colleague. These nominations will be sent to the President's Office. Subsequently, the President, in consultation with other vice presidents, will consider the merits of the request.


III - PRIVILEGES

If it is determined that the individual meets the criteria, has served the institution with distinction, and is deserving of the emeritus designation, the President will recommend to the Board of Trustees for Fort Lewis College that they bestow this honor upon the said administrator. The same privileges of faculty emeriti will be granted to emeriti senior administrators. These consist of the following:

  • A lifetime parking pass
  • A lifetime athletic pass
  • Library privileges
  • Notice of College events
